It is not only important to pay attention to the soil and the quality of the crop, but its conservation also plays a crucial role. High quality forage is essential for efficient production. However, various problems can occur during the ensiling of grass or corn, such as uneven dryness, air entrapment, excessive humidity and excessively high temperatures during ensiling. These problems can lead to loss of nutritional value and a decrease in productivity. In addition, diseases caused by mold and heat can occur if the silage is not properly preserved. It is therefore important to use a good ensiling method and to ensure a rapid pH drop in the silage.

Solution

Optimization Silage – Mixer Wagon is a liquid silage agent based on acids. This agent promotes an acute pH drop in the silage, which is essential for effective preservation. In addition, it contains aromatic additives that improve the taste of the roughage. This product can be applied in various ways: on the turnip wagon or chopper during ensiling, via a silage distributor or sprayer, or in the mixer wagon during ensiling. It is also very suitable for treating the top layer or the cutting surfaces of the silage.

Instructions

• Mix before use.
• For ensiling: Make a 20% solution (e.g. 1 liter of Optimization Silage – Mixer wagon in 4 liters of water) and divide the quantity of this solution below by the product to be ensiled.
• Grass: 3-4 liters*/ton DM.
• Corn: 2-3 liters*/ton DM.
• CCM/MKS: 4 litres*/ton DS.
*Depending on silage quality and weather conditions.
• To treat cutting surfaces and top layer: Make a 10% solution (e.g. 1 liter Optimization Silage - Mixer wagon in 9 liters of water). Spread this solution evenly over the pit surface: 1 liter per m2 depending on the pit quality and weather conditions.
• When used in the mixing wagon: Make a 10% solution (e.g. 1 liter Optimization Silage – Mixing wagon in 9 liters of water). Distribute 2 liters/ton of product to be fed into the mixer wagon.
